What: Monday night golf at Waveland

NOTE: The LPSC 2008 Golf League is FULL!
However, substitute spots are available! We often have weekly vacancies when a player needs to miss.
The good news is that you can fill these spots for only $19.00 per round (checks made payable to LPSC).

Here is how you can participate:
1) Make your own arrangements with a player who needs to miss the round.
2) E-mail Jeff Fisher at FisherJeffFisher@MAC.com to see if there is a vacancy.
3) Just take a chance and shop-up! First come, first served - no exceptions

When: Mondays starting June 9, for 10 weeks ending August 11. Starting tee time is 5:32.
Final tee time is approximately 6:04. No assigned foursomes or times.
First players there are first to golf.

Where: Sydney R. Marovitz Golf Course, 3600 N. Recreation Drive (Lake Shore Drive),
Chicago lakefront. Free Parking.

Spots: 20 golfer maximum. Sign up is on a first come basis and will only be
accepted when payment is received by league organizer and 2008-9 LPSC dues are paid.
No exceptions!

Cost: $190. Includes League fee and the discount Players Advantage Card.
Add an additional $10 if you are a non-Chicago resident.

What: Volleyball, Bike Riding at the lakefront

When: Saturday, June 14, 2008
Time: Volleyball will start at approx 1:45 p.m. at the volleyball courts by North Ave.beach
Cost: none
Bike Itinerary:
1:45 p.m. - Meet in front of the Bike Rental Shop located on the west side of the North Avenue Beach Boathouse. An air pump is available to pump up your bike tires. You can also rent bikes and skates at the shop. (To reserve bike/skates, call Bike and Roll at 773-327-2706). 2:00 p.m. - We depart for Shedd Aquarium and will travel along the lakefront, passing Navy Pier, the Columbia Yacht Club, and the Chicago Yacht Club.
2:15 p.m. - We will pause at the Ohio Street Beach and take time to enjoy the view.
2:45 p.m. - We arrive at the Lookout Point in front of Shedd Aquarium; enjoy the view of Monroe Harbor; and an Ice Cream Café as well as other snacks and refreshments are available for purchase. Restrooms are nearby.
3:00 p.m. - Depart from the Shedd Aquarium and head down to 31st St. Beach. We will pass McCormick Place and the remains of Meiggs Field, and will then return To North Avenue Beach. End Of Day - We gather at Castaways, the restaurant on top of the North Avenue Beach Boathouse, to enjoy the view, music, food, tropical drinks, and other refreshments until after dark. (This is the summer version of après-ski!)

An easy way to get to Ravinia on Saturday is to take
the “Ravinia Special” Metra North Line train which departs
Ogilvie station at 5:35 p.m., arriving at Ravinia at 6:16 p.m.
This train makes a return trip to Chicago following the end
of the concert. A roundtrip ticket from Chicago costs $5.
